About Housing on Akhdar
Rent apartments and houses, find Muslim roommates, sublet a room or buy a home near your masjid. Listings can be marked sisters only or brothers only, making it easier to find a halal living arrangement with Muslim landlords and roommates.
How do I find a Muslim roommate?
Open Housing, then Rooms & Roommates, and filter by your city. Many listings are marked sisters only or brothers only so you can find a compatible halal living arrangement.
Can I list a home for sale?
Yes. Use Homes for Sale. You can mention whether you are open to halal financing buyers or owner financing without interest.
How do I avoid rental scams?
Always see the property in person, never wire a deposit before meeting the landlord and signing a lease, and be cautious of prices far below market. Report suspicious listings.
